reflection of 2009

One year has passed and lots has happened. A time to reflect and treasure those unforgettable moments :)

January
I would never imagined that I would have made true friends at my workplace. It's unbelievable! Till today, we still meet up :) And recently, all of us attended Ming Yenn's wedding dinner. What I can say is treasure your friendships.

February
I've been very much disappointed about the poor leadership at my workplace; though keeping in mind that people are paid to be managers and not leaders! And finding out that research has proven that effective leaders understand their followers' needs which includes trust, compassion, stability, and hope. Hence I finally moved on which felt great! Shared my internship experience with TUC; felt different after so long of not sharing with a plenary.

March
My 2nd TUC LLDS faci experience. And this year it was an amazing experience as well! Thought that my 1st was a blast, but this year was equally cool. Again, diverse facilitators profile came together to make dreams come true :) Also got news of amazing growth of SWAP EPs raised!

April
Next up was OPS for my home LC. Another memorable experience as it happened with lots of help & support from Jamie & San San :) And finally, I got to clarify my type profile! It's official that I'm an INFP :D and I'm reading so much about type.

May
The Kuching story started! Being flown to Kuching for a client project. Very different experience compared to my previous client projects. And started to get type books and constantly reading them. It's also official that I'm not coaching the LC anymore; it's just that the EBs aren't ready for what I have to offer. I don't blame them, just myself for not having the patience & time to make things real for another term.

June
Reading work abroad stories of OPS delegates made me miss my work abroad experience so much. And being in Kuching just wasn't close to it. Started to give some thoughts about my path. MSc Psychology? Executive Coach? I love options! And if I could, I want it ALL :D

July
Am still in Kuching! Working like a zombie everyday. Honestly! And I dreaded it :(

August
Bye bye Kuching!!! Took almost 2 weeks to recharge. Met up with friends at IC'09 which is in Malaysia :) I can't believe that newies I met in Hong Kong as an intern are now in the MC! Also started to open up to better opportunities...

September
RIS - a promise made fulfilled! It was really really good to see all my OPS delegates at RIS again! And this time, they are the enthusiastic ones sharing their internship stories. Again thanks to Jamie & San San for pulling this off with me! Did a type workshop for the EBs using the problem solving model :)

October
I found the Malaysia Facilitators Network! A group of people who shared a common interest with me - facilitation :) IAF Certified Facilitator? That's an option I would nail it down!

November
Recently, articles in the business section caught my eyes. The very first one was on employee engagement by Roshan. I started to search for past articles on the science of building leaders, a series of articles he's been writing. I find that what he's written is common sense; but I guess common sense is not that common after all when you still notice that many organizations are comfortable in their ways.

December
Loved the type boot camp :) And finally, made a final decision to move on...

As I was reading my post on 2008 journey, it seems that 2008 was very much eventful as compared to 2009. But then again, it could be because that I've been overloaded with work. Can't wait for 2010 and very hopeful that things would be exciting again!
