i miss...

Met up with Hui Hui for dinner at Oh Sushi. It has been about a year since we last met. I thought that it would be awkward and that we wouldn't have much to talk about - but we were in the restaurant till we were informed that they were closing!

We shared mostly about our current jobs. Both of us have very different ideas to what consulting really is before we landed ourselves in the consulting industry. It turns out that we still love parts of it i.e. always challenging and learning! And we were quick to compare notes to what projects we were involved. We also shared our dreams of specializing in an area of our interest.

Then we were to quickly question ourselves whether consulting was for us or not? Hahaha... it's actually a good question, and I'm still searching for the answer. I've been reading quite some books on positive psychology and it has provided me with some directions. But I feel that I've not found out what I need to :( I always thought to myself of recreating/replicating my passion in AIESEC to my job but it seems that I'm not any closer than when I started a year ago. The question still lies - how do you make your job your passion? I miss working with loads of passion.

We were quick to change to topics around Hong Kong. Both of us agree that life in Hong Kong was somehow "free" compared to what we're experiencing today. I find that when I was in Hong Kong, I would have dinner plans almost every other day; and definetely plans for the weekends! Going out and meeting other interns excites me lots as I learn from them so much through conversations that matters. I miss having those meaningful conversations.

I felt that I've truly valued diversity so much and understood that it's something to be leveraged upon after Hong Kong. Today, it has triggered my interest in diversity management :) I saw that there's an e-learning on it; and possibly I would want to find out more soon! I miss working in an international team.

It was a good conversation, and probably we'll meet up again soon to have another one!
