sitting back to reflect

The Chinese New Year break came at the right time! I felt that I needed some days to myself to really sit back and reflect to what has happened, and more importantly what's next. I realize at this point of time that I myself don't have any dreams - or at least don't really have one which comes from deep within. But I didn't come to this conclusion today, but a few months back.

I guess it all started when I began working. At that time, it just felt that there were so many things which happened; and that it seems that everything just fell into place. Well, let me give you some examples of what I meant.

Hmm... took the Harrison Assessment to help me find my passion, was strong and determined to get a HR related job when I was back and just couldn't believe it that I'm now working for a reputable firm as a Human Capital Consultant - a dream job!

Then my CEEDership went pretty well - an unforgettable experience, and then was just overjoyed to be facilitator for IC 2007 in Turkey, meeting the Hong Kong delegates again at IC 2007!!! And recently, chairing WNCF 2008.

Thought that it would be bit hard to get involved in church again; but surprisingly the youths just got me involved immediately with almost everything as if before I left for Hong Kong. Am pretty thankful for that, though am taking some time to adapt ;)

Friends were more than happy to meet up and catch up! Really cool dinners & outings which just made me felt really welcomed & happy ;)

And so, it seems that everything just went according to plan and some exceed expectations! Just felt really excited during that period of time as things just fell into place so nicely. It would seem that many of my goals & dreams were achieved together; faster than I could have anticipated! Then realized that something was missing - a long term goal perhaps. It would seem odd to many of my friends if I were to tell them that I need help with goal setting; as I'm the one who is always leading the goal setting process. But anyhow, I do need help! And so, I went around talking to friends about their day to day lives, their challenges & their dreams. Of course this helped lots, and gave me a clearer perspective on how I would want to approach this matter at hand.

Today, am a bit closer to understanding myself and what's next for me! Am really glad that I made quite some progress even though it was just a few hours each day to sit down and reflect. Just can't wait for me to figure this whole thing out soon ;)
