dinner & coffee chat after a year
It was definitely hard for me when I was just back from Hong Kong. Many of my friends were asking of why I didn't meet up with them nor even make a phone call to let them know that I was back in Malaysia. Hmm... the only reason to it was that I was recovering from reverse cultural shock. Not many friends I know of have gone through this stage nor begin to understand its effects. But anyhow, I'm still recovering but am way way lot better now. Having worked for a month already; I've started to settle down. Also, have started getting involved in church activities & meeting up with friends more frequently.Just last night, met up with Whitsney & Yuan Yng for dinner. It was really good to meet up with them after such a long time. I think the last time that we met was just before I went to Hong Kong for my internship. We had Vietnamese food at Sunway Pyramid and then later proceeded to Starbucks.
We started off sharing about our work life - managers, office hours, assignments, bonus etc. It was very interesting to listen to their stories & day to day challenges. Hmm... I guess that I would now be more prepared for what could await me.
Yes, we did talk about AIESEC! I actually wanted to talk to them about it - about life as an alumni. Why? Only recently that I'm officially an alumni ;) and am still figuring out how to be a good one! It was so much easier for me to be a good intern - as I've always imagined of how a good intern would be like, and that I wanted to role model it. But to be a good alumni, hmm... guess that I've never given much thought to it. Have been also talking to some other alumni about this topic as well and how did they cope with the initial stage of being an alumni.
Anyway, the catching up last night was really good! Thanks so much ;)
